Joy of Making Music - Beginning Wind and Percussion Instruments

Joy of Making Music , formerly Joy of Music continuing for the 2018-2019 school year.  

Mr. Dan Felix is an educator and musician, native to Kingston, and has been applying his passion for music with Kingston Music Program since its inception. Some of Dan’s involvement with the Joy of Music includes: raising funds for music supplies and scholarships, speaking at town meetings, and observing Mrs. Vikki Johnson teach. In 2016, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Ithaca College, where he gained experience teaching band instruments to children grades 4-12.
 
Since graduation, Dan has taught K-5 music in public schools, taught private instrument lessons, and performed professionally on saxophone. Since graduation in 2016, Dan has played more than 250 performances in 9 US States. Dan plans on combining his experience and connections in the modern music performance/education industry with his experience and passion for the Music program.

The program will continue with weekly 30 minute small group lessons offered Monday - Thursday between 2:40 and 8:00pm.  When registering please indicate the instrument at the question page: flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and snare drum.



All students must have an instrument for practice.  Please e-mail Mr. Felix with 3 choices of availability for day and time so a schedule can be created. 

When registering for this program you are also giving Kingston Intermediate School permission for your child to be released at dismissal time if the lesson is right after school to the instructor for the program.

To be paid in 3 installments: 1st installment due by Oct. 1 - $150; 2nd installment due by January 2 - $150; 3rd installment due by March 11th $100

Non-Resident Yearly Fee: $420
To be paid in 3 installments: 1st installment due by Oct. 1 - $150; 2nd installment due by January 2 - $150; 3rd installment due by March 11th $120
